Longwood Engineering Wins Silver RoSPA Award 2016

We’re delighted to announce that we have been recognised, for the second year running, for our industry-leading efforts in health and safety management with a Silver Award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This prestigious award places Longwood Engineering head and shoulders above other organisations in our sector and demonstrates our commitment to improving health and safety standards across our industry.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.

“This year was doubly special for our winners as their achievements were recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrated its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”

Speaking of the award, Director/Company Secretary Laura-Jane Battye said “Health and Safety is paramount at Longwood Engineering and I am delighted that our company has won this prestigious RoSPA Silver Award.  The award is testimony to everyone’s efforts and contribution to deliver a mind-set and culture that puts safety at the heart of our business”.

Highly respected and recognised throughout the world, The RoSPA Safety Awards set the benchmark for exceptional health and safety and is celebrating 60 years of presenting highly-regarded and sought after accolades to businesses and organisations which have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.

To be considered for an award, we had to meet rigorous judging criteria by demonstrating our approach to improving health and safety management, as well as creating an environment that enhances the wellbeing of its employees and also benefits stakeholders.

The Silver Award will be presented to Longwood Engineering during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on July 14, 2016.
